Dawn Vaz-Green owner of Craftique store was born April 15, 1947 in Kingston, Jamaica.  She pursued studies at The Ontario College of Art in 1964 and followed her art career later in life in the late seventies by opening a craft shop and boutique called the Craftique store. The Craftique store encouraged local craftsmen to hone their skills and to sell their art and craft and the Craftique store gave them the area and shelf space to do so. In 1994, she opened Dawn Green opened the Artworks art gallery an alternative gallery which promoted leading artisans.

Soon after the art entrepreneur’s 50th birthday she began her own Jamaican painting career and has been painting professionally since then.  Her passion is fantasy surrealism but she is equally adept at painting landscapes and portraits.   Dawn has a strong exhibition record and has overseen art exhibitions, Trinidad, UK and USA. In 2000 n artist embarked on another career path in writing n literature. She began writing the novel Ruby’s Hamwalk a story of her mother’s childhood in rural Jamaica and her life.  In 2001 she wrote The Magician and the Mouse a metaphysical fantasy with vibrant learning constructs. This has been one of the most successful story books by a novelist.  The novelist’s latest book, A Passage through the Valley of Death was inspired by her husband’s work in planting the seed of Reverence for Life in Jamaica’s prisons.

The owner of Craftique store was Life Member and Past President of the Optimist Club of Barbican Pines, was Past President of the Jamaican Artists & Craftsmen's Guild. Dawn Green currently serves as special advisor to the board, co-publisher of the new motivational magazine and was executive member of the Cricket Hall of Fame Museum Development Team.
